Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 September 2026

The service

NZInvoicer ("we", "us", "our") is a quoting and invoicing app built for New Zealand sole traders - freelancers, contractors, consultants, coaches and influencers running roughly 5–15 invoices a month. By creating an account or using NZInvoicer, you agree to these terms.

Voice input and AI processing

NZInvoicer's voice capture feature lets you speak a quote or invoice instead of typing it. When you use it, your voice recording is sent to a third-party AI provider (via our AI gateway) to convert your speech to text, and the resulting transcript is then sent to an AI model to extract structured line items, customer names and job details. We don't store your voice recording on our servers — only the text transcript is kept, as part of your chat history, so you can review or reuse it later.

By using NZInvoicer's voice features, and more generally by continuing to use NZInvoicer, you consent to your voice recordings and transcripts being processed by these third-party AI providers as described here and in our Privacy Policy.

Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use NZInvoicer. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, and for keeping your password and account secure. Let us know straight away if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.

Subscription and billing

NZInvoicer is $12 NZD per month, per user, one plan, billed monthly. New accounts start with a two-week free trial - you won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before then at no cost. After the trial, your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.

You can cancel any time from your account settings. Cancelling stops future billing; your access continues until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. We don't provide refunds for partial billing periods.

Acceptable use

  • Don't use NZInvoicer for anything illegal or fraudulent.
  • Don't try to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service.
  • Don't use NZInvoicer to send spam, or to issue quotes or invoices you don't intend to honour.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of the quotes, invoices and client details you create and send through your account.

Your data and ownership

You own the client, quote and invoice data you enter into NZInvoicer. We store and process it on your behalf to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export or delete your data at any time; if you close your account, we'll delete it within a reasonable period, subject to any legal record-keeping requirements.

Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep NZInvoicer reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be available without interruption or error. NZInvoicer is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. Where New Zealand's Consumer Guarantees Act or Fair Trading Act gives you rights that can't be excluded, nothing in these terms limits them.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, NZInvoicer isn't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time - for example, as NZInvoicer adds features or as the law changes. We'll let you know of material changes by email or in the app. Continuing to use NZInvoicer after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
